How Garmin Dash Cams and Vault Work Together to Give You Peace of Mind

How do Garmin dash cams and the Vault work together to help you in the event of an incident? Learn more in this blog.

Your Second Set of Eyes — Garmin Dash Cam

Garmin has different models of Dash cams to suit your style ,the all time favorites are  Garmin Dash cam 66 W and Garmin Dash Cam Mini the smallest dash cam currently in the market

Dash cameras are always watching; they never need to catch a few z’s or make a pit stop. No matter what happens in front of your vehicle or when it happens, your Garmin Dash Cam™ will capture the action1. Your only job is to plug it in to constant power and point the viewfinder in the right direction.

But what if you need the dash camera video a few days or even weeks after an incident?  The Garmin secure online Vault has your back. Learn how the Garmin Dash Cam and Vault work together to give you a dash cam system that can provide peace of mind in more ways than one.

Secure Video Storage

The Vault is an online storage system for saved video clips from your dash camera. Once the dash camera connects to a trusted Wi-Fi® network, it will automatically upload your saved video to your Vault. The saved video will stay in the Vault for 24 hours from the time of upload for free. Videos can be saved manually with the push of a button or simple voice command, or if an incident is detected, the dash cam device will automatically recognize the event and save it to your Vault. There is no size limit for video clips and data stored in your Vault, but you should know that any unsaved video clips on their dash cam devices will simply be overwritten.

Incident Warnings and Eyewitness Capabilities

Garmin Dash Cams can even serve as an eyewitness to any accidents or incidents, automatically saving a video when it detects an incident. Thanks to built-in GPS, video will be stamped with location details so you’ll also have proof of when and where the event occurred.

Manage Your Video

To view and share your video clips, most compatible Garmin devices wirelessly pair with the Garmin Drive™ app on your smartphone, and some Garmin trucking devices use the dēzl™ app. We’ve all felt the frustration of attempting to share a file size that’s simply too large to go through, but with an active Wi-Fi connection, Vault allows you to share video clips with others — friends, insurance providers and even law enforcement — by sending a link and a passcode.

If you need to store video for longer than 24 hours, you can purchase a standard storage plan, which keeps the videos for 7 days. An advanced subscription will keep your videos for 30 days.

Remember, you can still save videos no matter which subscription you have. The storage plans just archive video in the Vault for longer before it’s deleted.

Durable by Design

Your vehicle’s dashboard absorbs a lot of heat and direct sunlight, which can take a toll on electronics stored there. That’s why our dash cameras are purpose-built to withstand hot vehicle environments.
